My wife tells me that the National Infantry Museum aty Ft Benning is one of the best museums that she has ever visited. In particular she says tha t"The last 100 yards" is one of the best exhibits she has ever seen. Given that she is a real museum buff -that is something! Her words: "It's worth a trip to Columbus GA/ Ft Benning even if your kid isn't graduating from Airborne School in the morning".:thumb:
    Hooah!

That is outstanding!!! I received my Blue Disks and Blue Cord right in front of that place. It was right after the 25mi road march. Very memorable place and equally interesting.

In her travels, has she seen the new museum at Quantico? Just asking because I hear it is great and we have yet to go to see it.

The Marine Corps Museum at Quantico is not "new". It has been there for a few years. You can see the top of the museum from I-95. It is a great place to visit if you are in the area. For PPW it is a great place to visit and get away from Annapolis (about an hour away). I think they take PLEBES there during a Saturday evolution during their first year? Benning must be a great place to see. Just see "We Were Soldiers"

Hmmmm....I don't remember the Infantry Museum being in the movie. Doughboy Stadium, Building 4 ( Infantry Hall), On post housing, and the Airborne Towers but not the museum. I was actually pulling post staff duty at building 4 when Mel Gibson came pimpin up in six gold Ford Explorers. Dude is a TINY guy. He was there to meet up with the Post Commander.

But it was a great movie. And a greater book: "We Were Soldiers Once and Young" Emphasis on the we were young and immortal at the time. He may be tiny and "pimping" the command but it was a pretty good movie. Better than most and long live Sergeant Stryker. :shake:

Thanks for the kind comments about the Infantry Museum. We are incredibly honored to offer this tribute to the American Soldier. The Museum opened Jun 2009, and we are proud to have had more than 400,000 people visit since then. Hope you will all stop by!
