There don't seem to be any "year in the life" type non-fiction books for USNA as there are for West Point ("Absolutely American") and Air Force ("Skies to Conquer" which came out this spring). Two good novels set at USNA in the late 1960s are "A Sense of Honor" (serious) and "The Return of Philo T. McGiffin" (more humorous). Obviously the place has changed a lot in 40 years but you might enjoy them for a historical flavor of the place.

    Books

Probably not right on point for what you are looking for but from the trips to the Yard I became interested in some of the history, and the monuments etc. and the two books that I would recommend are "A Walk in the Yard" which is a a little paperback book that really does a pretty comprehensive job of all the things you see in the yard and wonder what they are and their history. My son gave me "Guiding Lights" which is a hardback book and has much of the same material but probably a little more comprehensive concerning some of the history of the monuments etc. I have never read any of the "year in the life type books" perhaps someone else can comment on that.

I'm guessing you wouldn't like Bruce Fleming's, "Annapolis Autumn"

But it is about the Naval Academy.
