Naval Academy Summer Seminar 2009

What kind of bag should we bring our belongings in to NASS? Does it matter luggage-wise? Any other tips for preparation? I will be at the 2nd session

Everything I've found from past participants say to bring less than the letter tells you to, because they give you most of what you will need. I would bring a small duffle or back pack.
 
The letter will tell you to bring shorts and t-shirts, but there is no need because you are given clothes as soon as you arrive at Bancroft. Your squad leader will give you a bag full of clothes (around 5 t-shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, and a sweatsuit) and will tell you when to wear what. You won't have the opportunity to wear any of your own clothes until you leave the yard for the airport, so my suggestion is to simply not bring any. The only things you really need to pack are socks, underwear, a couple pairs of running shoes, a towel, and sheets. A small blanket may also be a good idea, but it gets pretty hot so you might not need it.
 
I know what you should bring. A plastic garbage sack ready to put all of your disgusting sea-trial clothes in before they go into the suitcase. If I remember correctly it happens at the end of the week so no time to dry before the trip home. We live on the west coast and by the time they arrived, they were very ripe. The suitcase died.

I've sent an application, but still haven't received anything on my status, does it come through the mail or email?
 
I got mine via email, then received a registration packet by mail.
 
my email went to my spam box and had i not checked it by chance i wouldve deleted it.
 
Yeah, I got an email. Then about two weeks later I got my papers. Just sent them in this morning.
 
anyone hear anything recently as to if they were accepted? :frown:
