Just for general information, I'm in Session 1, and am from Plant City (Near Tampa, FL). I also did not recieve an acceptance e-mail, so I wouldn't sweat it if you didn't get one.

I did not receive an email, either. Today I received my acceptance letter. I live in Southern California, if anyone is curious. Still not sure if I can go as I'm going to USAFA's SS 2nd session and 2 weeks away from school, while awesome, may be too much to miss.
 
My daughter attended SS at both USNA and USAFA. They are very different places, and the two sessions were run very differently. IF you are seriously considering both academies, and IF you can afford it, it could be to your benefit to attend both. No, SS is not a real version of the Plebe/Doolie experience, but any exposure is likely to help you to determine which place is the better "fit" for you.

Should I be worried that I haven't recieved anything?

Thank you for your input, and I am seriously considering both. The only really tough part about the decision right now is the missed school...although the seminars are after AP tests. What was your daughter's schedule like before/during/after the 2 sessions workload-wise? Thank you very much

I wouldn't worry too much yet...postal service can vary. For instance my friend (who lives 3 streets away) always receives the same magazines as I do a couple days before I do.
 
My daughter's school was finished for the year one week before NASS. She left again two days after NASS for USAFA SS, then she had a summer program at one of our state colleges that started only a couple of days after that. It was a pretty crazy summer.

I found out today that I was selected for Girl's State. I guess I can always visit the Naval Academy later this year :rolleyes:
 
Does anyone know what I should expect for sea trials because I'm not too familiar with what goes on during this.
 
You don't need to be concerned with Sea Trials until the end of your Plebe year. At that point, if you and your training staff have done your jobs, you and your fellow Plebes will be completely prepared.

So the NASS site says "In some cases, notification of selection status will not be available before the beginning of April"

but doesn't that sound like you SHOULD (most ppl) find out before the beginning of April? that's pretty soon....and I'm so worried!

I also need to schedule my flights to USMA and USAFA summer seminars, and can't since i'm still waiting on navy

Since they are still accepting applications through 31 March, not all notifications have gone out. I would expect that you'll hear soon. Sorry, I know that is not much help!

No News in NJ

I hope any news come soon. There is only has 1 week that she has available for the SS. If it doesn't come this week that week may also be booked. I don't know about the rest of you but school doesn't end here until the end of session 2.
