My daughter at NAPS texted me late afternoon and asked me if I knew why she got 2 calls from an 833-405-xxxx phone number (I am not revealing the last 4 numbers) .... I googled searched the number and it appears that it is a general Navy Emergency Alert messaging phone number .... Is any one else aware of this system and/or phone number.
I texted her back and asked her if she was aware of what happened in Pensacola FL ... and did she know that a USNA graduate was killed in the terrorist attack. They all knew about it. In fact, he was a 2015 NAPS graduate. Here is what she said about it:
“Ya we had a memorial ceremony one of them who was killed graduated Naps in 2015 and my coach knew him pretty well and gave a speech on it including like 1 or 2 other teachers, one of them read off one of his old essays”
I am thinking they should do a little more to ensure that the Personnel and Students are aware of this alert system, and that they are measured whether they respond or not to the alert message. Our daughter was not aware of the need to respond with a text or otherwise.
