MARINE RULES FOR GUN FIGHTING

1. Bring a gun. Preferably bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns.

2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive.

3. Only hits count. A close miss is still a miss.

4. If your shooting stance is good, you're not moving fast enough nor using cover correctly.

5. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun.

6. Nobody remembers the details of caliber, stance, or tactics they only remember who lived.

7. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependent on "pucker factor" than the accuracy of the gun.

8. Use a gun that works EVERY TIME.

9. Someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death because it's empty

10. Always cheat. The only unfair fight is the one you lose

11. Have a plan.

12. Have a back-up plan because the first one won't work

13. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot up you get

14. Be polite, be professional. But have a plan yo kill everyone you meet.

NAVY RULES FOR GUN FIGHTING

1. Go to sea.

2. Send in the Marines.

3. Drink coffee

Air Force Rules:

1. Ascertain who it is below you
2. Do you like them? If so, proceed to 4, if NOT, proceed to 3
3. Pickle a TON of ordnance (actually MANY tons), laser guided, GPS, etc., to seriously ruin their day!
4. Grit your teeth and take your toys home
5. Stay hi, fast, and maneuvering
6. Tank WELL
7. Look awesome up initial
8. Drink your two combat beers, even if they're fake, EVERY post mission

I'm sure there are more but these usually work.

tpg: What did you expect from a squid? I was just recalling the rules from when I wore green and that was so long ago:yllol:

The Navy no longer teaches gun fight tactics (Seals excluded) The tactics now are target availability for missile engagement.

A loud whoosh a flash on the horizon then another cup of coffee.

old navy saying
guns and bombs go boom
missiles and toilets go whoosh:biggrin:
I guess boarding parties are no longer a concern
