Does anyone know what to do with this yet?
i sent in all my papers and got back a card that says activate today blah blah blah..

I would activate the card if you intend to use it. You will not have access to a phone once plebe summer starts. My son had a problem with his account and was able to work it out before I day only because he had activated his account.

yeah i activated the card but have no money in it or anything. am i going to need it for plebe summer?

Shouldn't need it for plebe summer, as I understand. Take a bit of cash and you should be fine.

It's important to have a bank account available for direct deposit of your Mid's pay. NFCU is handy (but NOT required), since there is a facility on the Yard. It is not required that Plebes have an ATM card activated now, but it is one way to make sure that the account is fully functional. Besides, now that you parents won't be paying college tuition, and most graduation gifts are useless for new Plebes, why not put a little $$$ in your new Mid's account?

Anything that Plebes are required to have (computers, uniforms, shoes, etc.) will comes directly out of their pay. That includes things obtained on the various "required" trips to the Mid store during Plebe Summer.

IF things are done like last summer (NOT something you should count on ), the first time a Plebe will need any cash or access to an ATM will be for their trip to a baseball game, close to the end of Plebe Summer.
