Yep, plebes won't be getting lib for a while. The only ones getting off campus at all before Parents Weekend are those on sports teams or attending the chapel retreat.

Re: Navy1981's note "I assume that is because Plebe Candidates don't rate much of anything at the moment and will earn liberty as the year goes on." Technically, I assume that the duration and hours of PC's liberty is at the discretion of the M/N Regimental Commander, just as it was when we were PCs. That said as a parent who went through this last year i hope for the current PC's parents they get an overnight and don't have to be back till at least 1600 if not 2000 Sunday which I have to believe based on past years is what everyone is hoping for.

Chapel Retreat
My son greatly enjoyed doing the retreats last year. They went out to a church camp on eastern Long Island on Labor Day week-end last year. Later in the year they went to a orchard, picked apples and got to bake pies. There was another retreat that they camped on and then got to stay in a hotel the last night out.
Anything to do with the Guest's or Chapel is going to be a great experience for your plebe candidate.
