What is this in response to?

I don't think anyone is arguing naturalized Americans aren't citizens….
 
Why the USCG doesn't belong to the DoD?

Well, the USCG pre-dates DOD for one thing.

But the Coast Guard formed from a number of agencies over the years, from the U.S. Lighthouse Service, created in 1789, to the U.S. Revenue Cutter Service in 1790, the U.S. Lifesaving Service, Bureau of Steamboat Inspection, etc….

While the Coast Guard has military missions, it also has a number of civil/law enforcement duties, and it is not subject to the restrictions of Pose Comitatus.

While I was still in I was once asked why the Coast Guard wasn't folded into the Department of Defense. I think there are a number of Coast Guard missions that would suffer (because they wouldn't be viewed as having the same importance by DOD), but also, do you really want the Department of Defense doing a recreational boarding of your boat? I wouldn't (and not just because the Navy is bad at it)…. that's where the Coast Guard can leverage its law enforcement / civil identity.
 
The Coast Guard has a GREAT mission(specially its helicopter rescue swimmers).
I respect these guys.

I don't want anyone recreationally boarding my boat any more than I want anyone recreationally practicing medicine.

A serious question for you LITS.

Connect the dots between the classic sailing "Cutter", which I believe is any fore-aft rigged vessel with more than one headsail, and the designation of modern motorized Coast Guard vessels as "Cutters".

Was this an essay question on one of your exams at USCGA?

If someone is not understanding you, its your responsibility to address as you bear the impact of that misunderstanding.

And I will tell you, many of us are scratching our heads at this point.

One piece of advice: the path you are proposing is very long and contorted... There are probably faster and less risky routes closer to home. Just too many sequential contingencies in what you are proposing.

An A4 is still much higher performance than what 99.99% of US immigrants ever get to fly!
 
This Thread is Crap. If you are so qualified for USNA you should also be qualified for Brazil Navy School and request transfer. There are many from other countries who report for I-Day. Like fencersmother said I am out of this Troll. You don't want to join the Navy? What does that mean? Free school and no commitment to either country? You might be the first if you request it.
