New Mailing Addresses

Just back from PPW and my DS didn't know his new mailing address, did anyone get one? Thanks!:rolleyes:
 
I believe the email addresses are m followed by their alpha number @usna.edu. Not much help if you don't know the alpha number. :frown:
The new mailing address will have a PO Box that replaces the company and platoon but I don't think they get those until they move to their new rooms.

Something I learned the hard way.....if you are sending your mid packages AFTER Plebe summer and into the academic year, my DS wanted us to send the package to the USNA Express Office. This has worked wonders. I send Fed Ex or UPS and he gets them much faster than sending to his PO box. Ask your mid about what works best for him or her. Your mid should have a regular PO box after Plebe summer to get his/her mail, but that is only my 2 cents from what happened with last year's Plebes and there are many on this site who will know more....good luck! :biggrin:
 
Your plebe's @.edu email is for official use only.

He should have a personal email account (GMail, Yahoo, etc) for non-official uses. Yes, that includes notes to Mom. :shake:

Good point. Many of the Plebes will have cell phones that they can use to access their personal emails - maybe a better way to communicate then thru their USNA computers.

Definitely discuss with your Plebe whether he/she wants you to send things via USPS or to the Express Office. It has always been much easier for my Mid to go to the 7th wing post office than to the Express Office.

Unless things have changed, you should already have the info about your Plebe's Ac year address. If his/her PS address was:

MIDN 4/C My Mid
Class of 2015
A company, 1st Platoon
PO Box 15xxx
Annapolis, MD 21412-5xxx

His/her address for the rest of their career at USNA will be:
MIDN (current grade) My Mid
PO Box 15xxx
Annapolis, MD 21412-5xxx

Potential bad gouge above!

Mailbox assignments are roughly alphabetical, ranging from 11xxx to 15xxx+. So, because my last name is in the middle of the alphabet, mine is 13XXX. Your plebe will get his/her mailbox assignments soon, stand by.

From personal experience, I prefer picking up packages from either the Express Office or the 3008 mailroom (how packages end up there is unclear to me, though) since the times they're open are more convenient and it'll get to you faster.
