    YAY!

"they also 'appreciated the longer length in shorts...'" So true. That's why I have compression shorts to wear underneath the current ones. ;)

Yeah, that'll be really cool, I've never worn the USAFA PT uniforms, but the warmups don't look very comfortable, especially the pants (actual running pants, like the Brooks type, are sooooo comfortable to do long runs in on colder days).

I think those jackets look pretty ill. The blue ones with the white/silver lines across the front.:thumb: Would any c4c+ recommend that we bring ipods to I-day and get them back after beast so that we could use them for PTs in the morning? or no? This should probably be a new thread or a pre-existing one but- what SHOULD we bring with us on I-day (other than razors and deoderant) that you think you would have liked to have during/after beast...I doubt my parents will be able to fly for parent's weekend so I don't know how long it would be before I get to have any of my stuff.

I'm pretty sure many squadrons don't even allow music until after recognition... So probably not. I'm sure a current cadet could answer with more depth.

I plan on bringing my phone and a camera so I can get those back in the time between BCT and parent's weekend, but I would leave the iPod at home. A current cadet can confirm, but from everything I have read, Semper is right in saying that there is no music allowed until after recognition.

He's right, they take up all ipods until recognition. Actually they won't even allow itunes to be on your computer. From what i've heard, the only way around the music rule is to bring an external hard drive with music already on it and you can use windows media player.

Haha WOW. I'm screwed then because my music is only on my ipod. My computer's hard drive had to be deleted and so the only way I could listen to music on my computer is through ipod>itunes. bummer.

But yea, I think you guys are right. Oh well, I should probably just take it with me after winter break.

I don't even think this is allowed... Seems like you'd be dancing around the honor code on that one. I'm curious to know though.

I think they said external drives are good, but flash drives are not? I'm not sure, though, someone else can confirm.

I don't know about the external hhd vs. flash memory, but remeber hearing something about it in one of the other 7300 posts. But unitedstatesAFA2013, you can transfer the music on your ipod to your computer, if for some reason your hdd crashed (didn't even know that still happens on pcs these days). All you have to do is show hidden files on your ipod, from My Computer, and there'll be a file called "ipod_control", with all music, movies, podcasts, etc. After you have your library reestablished, newer versions of iTunes allows you to back up your music library, allowing to reinstate your library in case your hdd crashes again.

It would be impossible for any modern computer nowadays to not have a USB 2.0 port... I mean, my computer has five... and other computers often have wayy more.

Perhaps this computer is like the macbook air in the sense that it has virtually no ports?
