Row2020 You have been such a positive/supportive voice on this board. As a guy who makes his living finding fault in what others are saying, I've genuinely enjoyed your uniformly possitive posts. My guess is, you'll win this one in the last 250m.

I'd take you in my boat anytime; so even, so supportive, so balanced----------you'd sit #1 in the bow. I see the USMMA has a women team at Kings Point. You don't need it, but BEST OF LUCK!

**blushing** thank you!! I am pulling for the boy and yes we are hoping for a power 10 in these last few meters! :) Best wishes you and yours!

My DS got his TWE this morning.....right now I feel a lot like many have but I'm not going to react off emotion. I'll just stand tall and say "it is what it is".

This forum has been a great resource and I'd like to thank all of you. Not sure if he will try again next year or not, knowing him he will. Plan B is VT - Corp of Cadet (Engineering). Already accepted. Maybe we will see some of you there....good luck to the rest of you.

DS checks the portal at least once a day, so far no TWE, CPR. But his Plan B is to go to either VT or VMI, so life will go on regardless. Both are Senior Military Colleges and great schools.

What congressional district was your son in, just out of curiousity? We are in VA-06, Goodlatte. Best of luck to your son at VT!

DS received TWE email last Tuesday...tough news but has 4 year AROTC scholarship to Boston College so on to plan B...good luck to everyone...this form has been very helpful along the way.

well that did not take long, here we go again...lol, should have figured he'd get right back at it. Isnt that what these kids do?

We are from NJ

My DS received his TWE via email this morning before school. I'm not sure how he is able to concentrate at school today; I broke down at work. He's got plans B, C & D; but I do know that he's already stating preliminary application for class of 2021!

Best of luck to all of you still in the running and to those that made it this far, with your plan B,C & D.

Just checked my portal...looks like I'm still in the hunt and CPR. If not, I'll be attending UIUC on a full ride (Evans Scholarship) and will try to walk on to the NROTC unit if possible. Congrats to everyone for making it this far, sounds like everyone has great plans in place

Thank you so much. DD is happily moving forward with her "other Plan A". She will NROTC assigned to the Notre Dame brigade going to my alma mater, Saint Mary's College. She found out that she will be among the first class to pursue a physics with applied mathematics major, and has already found and met her roomates.... one of whom is Marine option ROTC and science major and the other is also a science major. She knows that she has found her "home", as much as she would have loved the privilege of USNA. She is not ruling out reapplying, but happily pursuing her other Plan A right now. CONGRATS to your DS on his acceptance at VT! I hope all is well with him and that he is moving forward as only these kids can do... with their heads held high! Take care- :)
My DD loves being in NROTC at Notre Dame! She is a sophomore now and I think her class had more women in it than men. If your DD does decide to reapply to USNA, they had one girl get in last year and one of the Freshman just found out that he just got in, too.

An old classmate's son just graduated from that unit - he has high praise for their program. And yours is a great alma mater. I have fond memories of waiting for dates in the lobby of Le Mans under the suspicious eye of the front desk woman.

Where do you get your login info for the portal? I can't find out what my username or password are. For westpoint, they sent it via an email.

Im assuming you are referring to the portal for a C/O 2021 App. If so, USNA also sends it via email, so they may not have sent it yet. I don't remember exactly when I received mine last year, however I think it was in late April.

I'm so pleased to hear such wonderful things about the ND unit. Truthfully, I think her plan to enter the Navy materialized after an ND/Navy football game when she had a chance to meet a few female mids that were selecting aviation. My dad (a Navy vet) said that Navy pilots are the best pilots and with that she hasn't looked back. To her, it was either USNA or the ND unit. I am absolutely THRILLED, as is my Navy vet dad! As far as LeMans I had to laugh! Oh my goodness... I remember the stink eye my husband used to get from the front desk worker my senior year when I lived in that dorm. He and I were engaged at that point and I swear each time he walked past on a Saturday night she was looking at her watch. I assume you are a Domer? My husband was in Flanner. Great chatting with you, and again, thank you for the kind words. I am grateful each and every day from my SMC education and am so happy that my daughter has also found a home there. USNA would have been great... but if not USNA then I am thrilled with SMC and especially with the ND unit. :)

That is wonderful to hear! Thank you! ND was her first choice (along with USNA) and she is thrilled to be joining the unit. Her roommate at SMC will be coming in on the Marine option, and her grade school classmate was placed at the ND unit as well. While she has spoken a bit about reapplying to USNA, I believe once she is there it will be hard to leave. I'm happy to hear she would be well prepared to reapply, but I honestly believe she has found her home. I'm sure we'll cross paths at various ROTC functions USMAROTCFamily, and if you have any helpful advice please PM me. I hope your sophomore is doing well and best of luck to her as she approaches finals. I have many fond memories of this time of year on campus (AnTostal, Blue/Gold game, Bookstore Basketball.. SNOW well into the spring maybe not so fond), I hope she is enjoying herself.

Thank you so much! I was a little worried for a while.

Congratulations, SMC/NROTC is a dream Plan B - the best of two worlds. My oldest daughter declined ND a couple years ago to my disappointment, and my HS freshman is aiming for USNA and mindful of NDROTC as a high-challenge alternative. BTW, SMC's (retiring) president Carol Mooney taught me Trusts and Estates at NDLS - she was a solid professor.
And yeah, "stink eye" perfectly describes the woman guarding Le Mans!
