"Coast Guard Alaska," a new real-life action series is premiering Nov. 9, 2011 on The Weather Channel. The series follows U.S. Coast Guard pilots and rescue swimmers as they rescue sinking fishermen from the rough Alaska sea and the impact on their home-life.
The pilot episode is an introduction to Kodiak Island and a crew of Guardians, punctuated by a series of rescue missions. Within minutes, viewers hear the first distress call:
"Mayday! Mayday! Nordic Mistress. It's a 60-foot white boat ... We're taking in water. We're going down!"
