Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum so I thought I'd introduce myself! I'm currently a sophomore nursing student at my college. I'm looking into joining the AFROTC program at my university. It is a two-year program versus the four-year program! I'm been researching the military for quite some time now, and contemplating seriously joining for over a year. The AFROTC seems like the right path if I can just get my physical fitness up to par!

If anyone has any advice or thinks I should know anything about the Air Force or AFROTC specifically, please let me know :)

Have you contacted the AFROTC detachment in your school yet? We were given a tour and got to talk to a number of current ROTC cadets. It may be worth your while to inquire regarding your specific major as there may or may not be available slots due to the popularity of healthcare field. Good luck.

I have contacted them and had a meeting with one of the cadre instructors. I wasn't able to speak with any of the cadets (although I didn't think to ask either). Thanks for the heads up because I may ask next time I speak with the instructor. He seemed quite interested in getting me to join because I don't think they have many nursing students in program at the moment. I know it's a really small detachment from what the cadre instructor was telling us. He said he felt confident I would receive a scholarship, although he didn't mention anything about selection for Field training so I'm unsure about the likelihood of that!
