My Ds MOC lost his reelection bid and we now have a new congressman in our district. Will he be notified of an appointment in his district even though he is not the nominating MOC?

    MOC no more

    Hi
My DS is California D-50 and we also lost our MOC this election. But he got his nomination within two days of his interview. Not sure what will happen to anyone no getting a nomination.
    Regards
    John

Probably. Is there a reason it matters?

Yes. It would be nice to know if we would be notified by the congressional office or not.

You may not be notified regardless. Some MOCs do it and some don't. You are still constituents of your new MOC. The fact that the MOC is new is not necessarily relevant to a decision whether to call.

Our mid interviewed with the panel from one Congressman, who was not running for re-election, so we weren't sure what would happen either. In the end, we got a call from the office of the new congressman - the staff was actually the same as before, so they had been there when our son had interviewed to begin with.

As USNA1985 pointed out, not all MOCs notify their candidate of their appointment. DS got the BFE with no phone call prior to receiving it in the mail.
