NJ a very competitive State!

I seem to be a perpetuator of this topic a few times already but not this time LOL . And all it ever does is let us parents know deep inside the emotional probability of our kids getting in. If you want to get numbers forget the MOC call WP Admissions and they can tell you how many files were opened up in your congressional district. That is the only number that you would care about and in the end it means nothing other than giving you some deep seeded hope for you child that you keep to yourself to not crush their dreams. District 12 NJ.
Ridiculously competitive 40 men/women applied in 2015 I was told.

The determining the competitiveness of a Congressional district is not so simple. The number of files that were opened up in a Congressional district is an indicator, but not a good one. The admissions office won't tell you, but within the open files, plenty of them never get finished or go beyond initial questions. Opening application files at SAs are free, so many applicant are willing to open their files, but don't do anything else. At least for West Point, once the applicant is opened, the admissions office evaluates the applicant as admissible, competitive, and risk. The number of admissible or competitive files is not also a good indicator of the competitiveness and many applicants that are evaluated as admissible or competitiveness don't finish their application.

For the number of qualified not select (QNS) is a very good indicator of the competitiveness of the Congressional district as only qualified candidates could earn an appointment.

These were completed apps. I means nothing but to satifuy my curiosity. If there were 500 going to the NJ 12 MOC vs 40 its just something that makes me think.

If so, that is a lot. I think most completed application I have seen a MD district is 10+/-
