NJ Interviews

well the good news is, my congressman interview went very well. They spent more of the two minute interview congratulating me on things and making sure navy was my number 1 school. Then one of the men said "Good luck when you get to the Academy."
 
Congratulations USNAhopeful! Has anyone heard anything from Congressman Lance's office yet? I know he is having more interviews in December, but he might have sent out notices to some. Just wondering.
 
Does anyone know how many nominations Chiesa submitted (if he only had one slot, did he still list 10 names) and whether he ranked them or left them to the academy to decide?

Also, I have yet to see evidence that Booker is organizing interviews for nominations, does anyone know?
 
I spoke to people in Menendez's office. They are working very closely with Booker's office to do the nominations. Booker is not doing interviews. They are using Chiesa's files along with Menendez's.
Booker felt they did not have enough time to go through the whole process.
I was also told that nominations would not come out until the end of January right before they are due. I don't know what takes so long!
 
Yes, the interviews with Menendez will be going on through December, so I don't think there will be any news until at least mid-January. Strange situation with Booker nominating based on Chiesa's interviews. I guess there is a little political capital with holding a few nomination cards in his hand. Makes the system dirty, I think. Haven't heard anything yet from the Congressmen of NJ. I believe they, too, have interviews scheduled in mid to late December for the college students who are reapplying or applying for the first time. Good luck to all.
 
Not sure how many nominations former Senator Chiesa had to give out, but very proud to report my DS received a nomination from him the end of October. It it's already listed as"Nomination received" on his portal and he's received a letter stating the same. DS had his interview with Senator Menendez in mid December, but no news yet and nothing from Congressman Garrett as to an interview.

Mama, I assume you meant "DS had his interview with Senator Menendez in mid NOVEMBER." Since it is not mid-December yet, I guess that is what you meant. However, if your DS DID get an interview in December, please let me know. We have been trying to get some kind of answer from Menendez's office regarding when interviews will be held in December. Congratulations, by the way!
 
My mistake @navypops! Yes, my DS had his interview with Menendez's committee in mid November, not December. Still waiting to hear anything from that office or Garrett's office to schedule an interview. Still hoping to hear good news from USAFA now that he's got the nom and is 3Q'd. Good luck to you as well!

Has anybody heard anything from Menendez's office about when their makeup interviews are? I got a call from his office awhile ago and they told me they would be around Dec. 20th. I haven't heard anything from them since. I'm planning on calling the office tomorrow but I was curious if anyone else was in my situation.

I just had my interview with Menendez this morning. There was a group of other candidates (mostly those who were away at college) who was there with me.
 
Yeah I got a call from their office about a week after I posted about the interviews so I was there this morning too!

Hmm, if he has a nom from a senator I doubt Congressman Garrett would give him another considering NJ 5th District is one of the most competative in the country... As for his interview, it was my impression that they were completed on Nov. 9th
 
Any word on Congressman Chris Smith's (NJ-04) nomination release date? I know last year, candidates heard back on December 29th and two years ago candidates heard back on Jan 22nd. Also, does anyone know if Smith uses the principle nomination method?
 
Has any congressional district in NJ released nominations yet? If any one knows the timetable for 5th district noms please let me know.
 
Does anyone know where we can see who each senator/congressman nominated for the service academies? Specifically District 5 & 11 and nominations for Chiesea/Booker and Menendez
 
Received an e-mail from Garrett's office saying we should expect to hear from them in the second week of FEBRUARY! Could that be right?
