No Appointment or TWE....just Crickets

I also know of at least one person that received a USAFA Prep appointment several weeks ago.
 
True there have been a sprinkling here and there...But no real "floods" of non LEAD (i.e. Direct) on here...there should be about 10-14 who actually show up on here. DD was told that as of April 8, Admissions had not met and filled for Prep/Falcon. Looks like Falcon happened (remember only 100) and about 5 posted they received a Falcon. I'm thinking those still waiting and a few who had already received TWEs will possibly still see a Prep spot. There was a poster in one of the forums that received a Prep spot early March(?) who had received a TWE first and then received her Prep appointment. May have been earlier on this post, just can't seem to find it.

I think the 100 may be a little off the mark now. I spoke to the President of NWP today and she said they used to offer 100, but have changed the number to 60 within the past few years. I do not know the reasoning behind this, but she mentioned that it has only been that number for at least 3 years now.
 
As of this morning, I have received my TWE. The wait is sadly over. Thank you to all who have helped me along this journey. Good luck to the rest of you and goodbye.

I was told by admissions that I have until May 9th to decide between accepting the Falcon Scholarship or accepting my appointment to USMMA. The decision could not be more difficult.
 
Still have yet to hear a single thing back from the Academy. The wait is excruciating! What should I be expecting?

Silly question, but I have to ask -- did you check your portal and make sure you are a candidate and application is complete? A while back, we still had someone asking why s/he had not heard anything and it turned out s/he did not have a nomination.

Assuming your application is complete, you might call your nominating source/ALO. Although this is late in the game, it is never "too late" until you get the TWE. I know of one current cadet that heard in May, and one first week of June last year.

I guess it is theoretically possible, but I have never heard of anyone "falling through the cracks". It happened to me many years ago, but that was with a private university.

All questions are fair haha! I check my portal everyday, my status remains as a candidate and I received a nomination from CA Sen. Judy Chu.

My DD selected Greystone Prep at Schreiner University in Kerrville, TX. We talked to a number of the civilian prep schools and we were most comfortable with CMDR Dave Bailey at Greystone Prep (http://greystoneprepschool.org/). He is a USNA '82 grad and a NWP grad and he wanted to make a better prep school program for the academies. He runs a great program--only 34 kids in the program this year with 10 Falcon Foundation. They have an excellent track record of getting students into a service academy and having them complete four years. We were also very impressed with Northwestern Prep, but we felt that a year-long program taking university-level courses for my DD was the best fit. My DD needed the structure and she has matured so much during this last year. She will complete 35 credit hours taking Chemistry/Physics/Calculus/English/Psychology at Schreiner University. They also do PT in the morning before class and it greatly helped her CFA scores. It was tough for her but it has definitely prepared her better for the academy.

I was wondering if your DD has heard anything yet? My DS is attending Greystone in the fall. Also, do you know the stats for Greystone appointments this year?
 
My DD just received her appointment this morning on her portal! We are so proud of her and relieved that the notification finally came in. Nine out of the ten Falcons at Greystone have received their appointments.

Did she get an Appointment to Class of 2020?? or to Foundation??

I am confused...on April 15th you said she got a Foundation Offer, did it change to Appointment?

I'm going to attend Greystone this fall through the Falcon Foundation Program. Do you have any thoughts or advice on the school, especially for females? Thanks in advance :)
