On a topic completely unrelated to the military: one of my all time favorite ball players and my wife and son's absolute idol- Nomar Garciaparra signed a one day contract with the Red Sox today so that he could retire from the Red Sox.
Number 5 - you are still "the Man"! (and good luck with those twin girls!)
& this year- like every year is a Red Sox year and the Yankees will be where they belong- drinking pond water !) (Now if only the Cubs could join them atop the sporting world- what a series- Fenway vs Wrigley!)

The 36-year-old Garciaparra spent the first nine seasons of his 14-year career in Boston, where he developed into a fan favorite, a perennial All-Star and the best shortstop in team history. He won the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 1997 and won batting titles in back-to-back seasons in 1999 and 2000. His career average with the Red Sox stands at .323, with 178 homers and 690 RBIs.
