    Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago I received a LOA from West Point and had a quick question about it.

When you have a LOA do you have to receive an appointment from your senator/congressman/vice-president, or do you just have to receive one of the 10 nominations? Thank you!!

You have to receive a nomination. So, if you're on your Senator and/or House Rep's list of 10 nominations submitted, however ranked, you will receive an appointment.

Congrats on the LOA. Senators and congressmen do not give appointments, the SAs do. MOC give nominations and you MUST have a nomination to get an appointment. So, you must be one of the 10 nominated by a MOC to be offered an appointment. Hope that helps. Read the stickies at the top of the Nominations forum if you haven't already. Good luck.
