Hello everyone, if I a couple weeks ago I received a principle nomination from my Congresswoman (representative). However, I just checked the admissions website today and it is says I have received a nomination from my Senator. My question is, do you have to take your senator's nomination over your representative's? I would rather have a guaranteed admission, rather than compete in the national pool. Does anybody have any concrete thoughts? I really don't want this to be a debate thread. Thank you all again for your time, you all have helped countless cadets with a notoriously long and arduous process.

You don't pick which nomination is used. USAFA chooses how they "spend" the nominations. They are legaly required to accept the principal nomination if the candidate meets all of the admission requirements. Basically, with a principal nomination, you are in a real good position for appointment. Good luck! :thumb:

I don't think that this is a debacle. Perhaps you have received two nominations and one has not been updated on your application. Admissions is buried right now and it does take some time before they update the site. Since you are clearly concerned and I get that, you might want to call your Admissions rep to check the situation. But as said, since you have a principal nomination you are in good shape for an appointment as long as you are 3Qed.

What blackbird said. You don't get "X" nominations, and the academy chooses which one and lists it on your application. If you got your representative; both senators; a presidential; a vice presidential; and a ROTC nomination..... THEN ALL OF THEM will be listed on your application.

Sounds like 1) Your application isn't updated and isn't showing the representative's nomination, or 2) Your representative's office misspoke and you weren't really nominated by them. (Very unlikely).

I would call your academy admissions counselor and ask them to look at your application. Let them know hat you were told by your representative that you were given a nomination, but you don't see it on your application; but you do see the other one. Ask them to look and see what they see. Good luck... mike.....

Hey thanks guys, I will call my admissions counselor tomorrow. I honestly can't thank you all enough!
