Nomination Essay as a Candidate Statement

My senators' nomination essay prompt is just about equivalent to one of the West Point candidate statement prompts.

Would it be ok to just modify the nominations essay for the West Point application? Or would you all recommend writing an entirely new essay? Thanks!
