I'm a sophomore in high school. I want to go to West Point.

I'm from a private school in Kentucky that actually provides a good education, meanwhile the public schools here are well below national average.

How many nominations are allowed from Kentucky? Is that based upon state/ city/ district?

Last Question: How competitive is Kentucky as far as getting a nomination goes?

Each congressman generally gets 1 appointment (there are exceptions but I'll keep it simple for now). Each Senator gets 1 appointment. All of the members of congress (MOCs) get to nominate up to 10 people to fill their appointment slot. You can do the math.

I can't answer how competitive Kentucky is but I suspect with both Ft. Campbell and Ft. Knox there that the state itself is quite competitive. Your congressional district will undoubtedly vary based on where you live.

You can find much more information in the nomination sticky at the head of this forum or on USMA's web site.
