Nomination Question

Hello,

Will the nomination interview board give me a hard time if I haven't finished my application yet? My interview is on Jan. 24. I just need to finish the CFA to complete my USNA application, but my P.E teacher can only do January 27 at the earliest. My district is CA-17 with Rep. Honda.

They will likely ask you for the reason you haven't completed the application or the CFA. What motivates a candidate is an important factor to nomination panels. You need to be prepared with a clear and honest explanation of why you are so late in the game.

As far as the CFA is concerned you have to ensure that your PE teacher understands that the score has to be done by 31 January.

Is this really your first time taking the CFA? Have you practiced it?

I took the CFA in early December but was recommended to practice more (I couldn't throw the basketball more than 45 feet). I expect my scores to be higher than before.

Your explanation makes sense. I would think Mike Honda's interview panel will be fine with it.

You may have seen this video on the BB throw. If not, perhaps it will help.

The big part in the video is make sure you turn you hips. If you know someone who throws the discus at your school they can help. It is the same motion at the end.
