How do they decide which is Senator 1 and Senator 2? I received a nomination from the senior ranking senator from my state but was confused on the USNA website to see Senator2. I thought he'd be 1 for some reason. I also received a nomination from my representative for both USNA and USMMA. Does it help at all having a nomination from both your rep and senator or not really?

Same thing, except mine if from senator 1.
Either way, a nomination is a nomination is a nomination.
And the only help it gives is to USNA admissions, it lets them have a more flexible position when they "charge" nominations from each representative/senator.

Yes, it helps USNA......but it is beneficial to candidates too. Your name appears on two slates......two chances to be offered appt before being tossed into the national pool of applicants.
