I just got a phone call from Senator Hutchison's office, I got a nomination to USAFA!! I did not expect to hear anything this soon!
 
Congrats!! Since you have an LOA, you should be getting your appointment in the mail! Should you decide to go Air Force, we'll be classmates. :shake:

you guys are lucky, having all your decisions made early and know exactly what youll be doing! I on the other hand, along with most potential candidates have to sit back in anxiety and wait! ROTC or academy? :confused: hopefully ill be seeing you two in 2010 at USAFA, but its not in my hands anymore! Good luck to all!

oh and btw.....GO PHILLIES!
 
Congrats - did you have AF as your number 1 choice? Did you ask for one from USMA as well?

Son just got call from Sen Hutchison office, got his nomination. He was quite excited. His packet goes to boards next week, coaches said. Hopefully it will be for appointment now not LOA.:thumb:
 
Did all of you who have received a nomination already first have an interview with the nominating congressmen? I know that my nominational deadlines came around just two days ago, and I've still yet to receive a letter or call regarding interview times. It's not as if I don't keep in touch with them - I called each office nearly every day for the week before the deadline to make sure everything was fine and had been received.

Jezzie, did you interview with the Senator or his/her staff?
 
I think I heard that the Texas senators got more than 800 applications, so they don't do interviews. They tell you in the application instructions to be sure and let them know who you are through your essays.
 
Has your nomination status been updated on the Air Force Academy website yet? My son received a message from Hutchison's office but was in football practice and has not returned the call yet....
