Hello community,
Is it too early for a Junior to apply for a nomination?
Thank you!
Dave

That depends on your congressman or senator. Not only does each type have different deadlines for nomination applications, but each has different procedures for applying. Go to their websites and look it up. Remember to apply for nominations from all sources, including the Vice Presidential nomination. Good Luck!

Honestly it won't matter how early you apply for a nomination, so long as it's on time. They don't review files until after the deadline has passed, therefore it is not on a rolling process like West Point. Usually you can apply during the summer for the nominations.

West Point will send you something in the mid-June and then you'll be able to start the actual application, which you should complete as quickly as possible.

I would wait a little while to apply for noms. And I'm certain you'll have more to add to your applications by the end of the school year or summer.

I'm pretty sure you can submit CFA scores as soon as the application for the class opens.

For the CFA, you need to balance two things. You need to make sure you get the best scores you can as quickly as possible. So don't wait til the first week of february, even if it means you'll have perfect scores. Get decent scores, above average, and send them in.

K but how would you go about taking the CFA in summer

ask your high school's certified PE teacher or JROTC SAI. When your portal opens, instructions will be downloadable in .pdf form. give these to your tester a week out.
