Nominations

Congratulations to all! I've been sitting on my LOA since I don't know when but I still havent received a single correspondance back from my rep and senators. Not even for interviews...It's starting to make me a little bit nervous.

Notice from MOC

Hi
Does not your MOC's web site say when the interview process will start and end? (Deadline to submit) Did you receive a phone call telling your your application to your MOC was complete? My DS got letter with interview date as well as phone call. To my way of thanking time is getting short and maybe you need to send an email to the staffer handling the academy applications for the MOC.
Regards
John

Nope, none of the three have any interview or selectee information published, and one of the sites is out of date from two years ago (which I was only told after having submitted the application to the old specifications). Two deadlines were early/mid November and the last one ended November 30. I verified with two of the three that my application was complete and received. I plan to call again on 12/26. It almost makes me wish I would have changed my residency...

MOC Interview

Hi
Is your LOA for sports? If so contact your coach who got this for you and tell him or her of the issue. If the coach wants you he or she can get the academy to use one of their nominations to get you in. Remember who ever requested your LOA wants you at the academy and may be in a position to help. But regardless, I would be very proactive as the time is getting past and as we all know it is difficult for us lowly citizens to get any work out of the government bureaucratic system. I wonder how the process is going for those in Jessie Jackson Jr. district? I would send an email as well as call the person handling the interviews for the MOC and Senator as soon as you can. Email today and call after the holidays.

John

I don't know if my LOA was for sports specifcally, it didn't say anything about that in the letter, but I am a recruited athlete so I will see what the coach can do in case the MOC thing falls through. Thanks for the advice.

MOC Interview

Hi
I thank the fact you are a recruited athlete is important. The academy has nomination they and and do use when necessary. Work closely with your recruiting coach and follow up with the politicians ASAP. My DS was told that as a recruited athlete if otherwise qualified and no MOC he would have had help from the academy. Never give up and be very proactive. Best of luck!!

Well wouldn't you know it, I went to check my portal one last time before firing off the email and lo and behold, it says nomination received. Apparently my rep. wasn't holding interviews. Woot! Woot!

I am new to the site with a familiar question. My daughter has received 2 MOC nominations, and I am unsure what she has to do, if anything. Does she have to choose 1? If so, what is the time frame? Her current status is awaiting ALO interview & CFA test, academically & medically qualified. Thank you in advance for all help and apologize if I have not followed proper forum etiquette.

Wishful- I don't believe that there is any "picking" to do, the USAFA will charge whichever slots to whichever MoC as they see fit. All you have left to do would be that which you have already mentioned- the ALO interview and CFA. Both are important, so hit them out of the park and then sit back and wait.

I got a nomination to USAFA and USMMA from my congressman and another nomination to USMMA from my senator!

My son logged into his portal yesterday and he has a Presidential nomination.

Nomination

DS received nomination today from the Honorable Tom Marino District 10 Pennsylvania:smile:

I received mine from Congressman Amash of Michigan's 3rd district last friday. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Just found out today that I received a nomination from CA-14 Congresswoman Anna G. Eshoo.

Did you get a letter or check your application? My application says received from my congressman but I haven't been contacted by them yet. I'm also in CA ...

MOC letter

Hi
Our MOC sent letter to DS within one day of interview. It appeared on website in three days. If it is on website, you have the nomination but perhaps your MOC staff does not send out as timely as others.

John

If it says you have a nomination on your USAFA app then you've got it. Congrats. MOCs can handle notification of nominatees anyway they choose. Some MOCs call each nominee, some send a letter, and some do not directly notify them. Same is true for notification of appointmentees.
