I realize that it is fairly late at night, but today in my War class we learned about the importance of the day. On November 8th, 1965 the 173rd Airborne Brigade participated in Operation Hump in Vietnam. The men were in war zone D The Brigade was ambushed by 1,200 Viet-Cong militants. The 173rd lost 48 men that day. Many of the wounded were saved by the USAF.
The day has gained fame over the last decade from a country song about the battle.
An important day to remember, by all accounts.

Hooah and USAF too.

I meant to mention this in class today, but didn't think about the date much... Thanks for jogging my memory.
