November NROTC board results known?

Hello,
I have no new or different status. I haven't talked to anyone associated with Navy ROTC at any of the universitys my son has applied to since I wrote that info up and his status has not changed on the NROTC website nor on the DODMERB website. In other words, it's going down just like the person I referenced said would most likely be the case. So I have mentally checked out of the NROTC process for now and will get motivated again in mid January like they suggested to do. The first AFROTC board HAS MET this week as planned and advertised, my son is up for a type 1 engineering scholarship (good at any school for essentially any amount) AND they will give out information on 12/27 AS PLANNED and advertised per a conversation I had with my son's AF ROTC coordinator at the beginning of this week. As an ex AF officer myself, all I got to say about the differences in the two ROTC methods is, GO AIR FORCE!!!:thumb:

My son was much keener on a Navy fighter pilot career than an Air Force one at the beginning of all this but this process has really turned him off a bit for sure. Not a great way to start off your Navy relationship, IMHO.

I would encourage anyone reading this to contact the Navy ROTC unit at a school you hope to attend and see if there is any new info to share. With the cuts the Air Force is rumored to be making, it'd be nice to get a feel for how the Navy is doing as well in this department. All the AF ROTC contact would tell me down at Maxwell was that she was instructed to say it's going to be extra competitive this year which I'm pretty sure I know how to interpret...

Good Morning,

I wanted to check in with you....confessing to having some anxiety with the NROTC process. Your post continues to give me hope as I think I am a strong and competitive candidate.

Since making this post...do you still feel the information is reliable?

Thanks and my hope that you are enjoying the holiday season.

Charlie

I would agree because when they say they were "instructed" to say typically means they are already briefing the staff because they know they are about to hit a wall and do not want to make the situation worse.

Still waiting....

Son just called up NROTC and said he went before the last board but wouldn't tell him anything....

Did you happen to get date of the last board? This way we can all estimate when the next wave of offers will come.

I believe the NROTC has given out some scholarships, 2 of my sons friends received notification approximately 2-3 weeks ago.

chin up, they'll be another round soon!

Do we know anything for sure or are we just being hopeful at this point
a quick perusal of P-17s past posts indicates P-17 has relevant information :)

well, just checked the website and no new news...

In fact, his list of colleges is still wrong. It's the old list which son switched a month ago.

Anyone else have anything new to share?

Nothing here...

Wouldn't a round of board results released this week completely contradict the credible information you were earlier given?

Not to discredit P-17, but I wonder where their information comes from.

Heck, maybe it's actually some of the OCTOBER BOARD DECISIONS FINALLY BEING approved and released...afterall, P-17 didn't specify what board any info would be from.

Who knows?

Oh yeah, that's right-nobody. Haha.

I wont trust anything until I witness my online status change

The navy status page is a joke. My son has sent about ten emails to three different addresses to update the college list and its still the original list. His SATs have been submitted twice and they haven't been updated either.

They obviously don't do IT very well, which is worrying. :frown:

It is possible that Ms Parker would be helpful.
