NROTC Acceptance

Awarded!

Son just called, website posted today his selection 4-yr Navy option to
University of San Diego starting Fall 2011. Good news since he is enrolled there for Spring 2010. Proof that persistence pays this was his second app after TWE's from both USNA and NROTC last year. USD was first choice.
He's pretty pumped, so are we.

4-year NROTC scholarship for the University of Michigan! My status just changed today.

Congratulations! Is this your first time hearing about your scholarship or did you receive a letter earlier?

to all you drafted (that's an ironic word choice, but appropriate to the sports analogy ) in the first round -- IMPRESSIVE!!! Congrats.:thumb:

Type of Scholarship

Hello All, I am trying to find out the types of scholarships that are being offered. Has anyone received a scholarship for the Nursing Corp?

Just got my confirmation from the website and the officer who helped me apply.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
4 year Navy ROTC

for all those whove been accepted:

have you been chosen to multiple schools that you can choose from?

or do they only offer one school?

I didn't receive anything in the mail yet. I found out from checking my status online. It didn't tell me I was offered a scholarship until last night, and I had been checking it since Tuesday?

I was offered only one school.

Congratulations to everyone!!!

Interesting. Some people are getting letters first while some people aren't. It's strange that there wouldn't be a standard process for applicants who have been accepted- then again, I have come to the realization that much about NROTC does not make sense...

I think that those who have received letters had been selected earlier? Since the NROTC website didn't start working until Tuesday, they wouldn't have known that they were selected before their letter came in the mail.

Well I think we're working under the information that there has only been one review board where, logically, everyone who got in heard back via the same medium and roughly around the same time.

Yesterday I checked my status and found out that I had been awarded a NROTC scholarship to Vanderbilt.
Congratulations to everyone else!

I'm very happy for you. Vanderbilt--WOW! If you don't mind me asking, why Vanderbilt? My daughter considered it but in the end: not. Again, congratulations on all your hard work.

I visited Vanderbilt in the spring and I was really impressed with it. The navy detachment seemed aawesome and it just seemed like a place I want to spend the next 4 years of my life at. Plus, I want to major in Mechanical Engineering and they have a well respected Mechanical Engineering department.

I just had a friend text me and say that her dad just handed her the letter notifying her of her Navy Nurse Scholarship.

@chattahoochee, is the quote below still true? Have you checked on room and board?

Vanderbilt University gives all NROTC and AROTC students 6,000 toward their room and board. They used to only give 3,000/year, but the amount is doubled for incoming midshipmen next year. It really is a great deal at an expensive school like Vanderbilt, where room and board alone are 10,000 per year.

they have a well respected Mechanical Engineering department.
Yes they do indeed.
