So my application status for NROTC said I was assigned to an NROTC unit at the University of Virginia. I am very happy, but at the same time, kind of worried. My ACT scores (31) are kind of low to get into this school out of state, and I was wondering if being awarded the scholarship would help in my admission decision. Anybody have any idea?

Yes it will help. You need to contact the NROTC at the Uni. For the Navy they get a list of cadets assigned to the school, and will follow up with admissions. If he is borderline or slightly below the usual acceptance standard getting the scholarship will push him over the edge.

    UVA ACT Scores

Their ACT composite is listed as 27 to 32, so a 31 is great!

Notification of NROTC Navy Option Scholarship

I checked my NROTC scholarship application and it states that I have been selected. I have been assigned to the NROTC unit at NC State, which is my first choice (tied with Auburn).

I was looking for a letter, or something, and just happened to check online. I am shocked.

USNA is still my first choice. If I do not get an appointment, this will be great.

    WOW WOW WOW. :thumb:
