I was told by my recruiter that my NROTC scholarship will expire once I report in on I-day at USNA.

    Could anyone else verify this?
    MY RD does not know.

I don't want to give it up now just in case something happens to where I'll be healthy again a month after I-day but not before I-day.

    playing it safe....

From page 5 of the NROTC 2012 Selection Booklet…..
“If you enroll in any other U.S. military officer accession program, such as a service academy prior to reporting to the NROTC unit, you automatically forfeit your NROTC scholarship. (Example: If you receive an appointment to, enroll in and drop from the U.S. Naval Academy in early summer, you cannot reclaim your NROTC scholarship -- even if you were enrolled for only one day.)”
