My local assistant for my application told me that he talked to one of his higher-ups and they told him that I can list positions on my activity record that I am anticipating and vying for during my upcoming senior year. Would putting team captain 12th grade even though I have not been named captain yet for the sake of getting my application in ASAP be acceptable? If I don't get captain, I don't want to get called out for lying and lacking a sense of personal honor... Thanks!

Personally, I would put down sports you plan on participating in and anything else you anticipate doing.... as long as it's in your control. If it's not in your control, like team captain, then I wouldn't list it. You should have opportunities to update your application although I won't swear to that. If you'll know about the captaincy in September or early October then I would consider waiting on sending in the application. If you're a truly outstanding candidate there is an advantage to getting the application in early... and you should strive to get it in early in any case... but not to the detriment of the quality of the application. Make sense?

Yes. That's what my gut told me. I'll know by the first week of September but my recruiter is pushing me to turn it in by August 15th (for the first board). Thank you so much!
