Apparently the results from the final board are being posted - DS status changed today - he's been offered a 4 year scholarship to OOS private school. So, if you have been patiently waiting for the final board results to be posted, you might want to take a look at your status page. Also noticed that waitlists are being worked and offers are going out...yay for Ms. Parker! :thumb:

    Status page URL

Can you pass along the URL for the web page that displays the updates to the wait list status of an candidate?

This is for the scholarship status webpage, not the wait list status. From other threads people have said they are receiving emails regarding wait list movement...

    Congratulations to your son again.

Does he have any idea yet whether he will choose Army or Navy.

Thank you! He knows about the NRTOC scholarship but hasn't said much about it, he's out playing soccer right now. He would have to request a transfer for NROTC since he is assigned to Duke but he was not accepted there. :frown: Army is a 3 year OOS but we are requesting a conversion to 4 year IS since he's been awarded IS tuition. So both will require a change.

That all being said, I think he is probably leaning towards Army after visiting the school earlier this week. You have any insight you would like to share? Don't know too much about either since husband retired from Air Force...

Ms. Parker has been wonderful throughout this whole waiting game. She is the only one that has helped me remain sane during this process.:thumb: I couldn't have done it without her.

With one you get Dusty, and with the other you get Wet.

    Sorry, Couldn't resist.

Our experience is with the Army, we will now have 2 sons in AROTC. Our younger son had looked at the Navy but in the end decided on Army. I know the Air Force is having a lot of issues right now, cadets not making the grade or EA slots and losing scholarships. I am not sure how the Navy is doing in that regard. My older son has enjoyed AROTC and is looking forward to commissioning AD next year. I am not sure what the AD cut offs will look like when the younger one is ready to commission.

The 2 services are so different, both in mission and how they commission their cadets. The Army has 16 branches to choose from, and the way they are selected for their branch is a multi level process that could take 3 pages to explain. The Navy is basically Surface, Air, Submarine, and then the added sub categories.

I was in the Coast Guard myself so this is all new to me as well.

I wish him luck, and again congratulations to him.

Love your explanation in the difference between the two! :yllol:

ROO explained the selection process to him - he plans to be in the top 10%! And he know what he has to do to get there, so it's all up to him.

Like I said, I think he is learning towards Army at this point, but I guess he could surprise us and go Navy.

Thanks again for the congrats! Best of luck to both of yours as well, I know you're very proud of them...

so are final board results all out now? If a status hasn't changed by now is it likely to end with a "no scholarship" email at some point?

Got so excited when I saw this thread. Texted my *no decision* senior who is working: Quick check your status!!!! Returned text: :-( Same, no decision

This kid would give a right arm for a NO scholarship. Oh well........

So if the status is still unchanged does that mean you did not get a scholarship? Thanks!

I have the same question. Son's website status hasn't changed. Does anyone know if this means no scholarship?

If it's not already a word, I think it should be added next time they update Websters! :shake: And for the description they could just put Ms. Parker P-Flying 17!

    ha ha lol!

Thank you! I must confess it is all a team effort, I am amazed everyday at the dedication and hard work of the NROTC Staff as a whole. So very few people handle and/or care for so thousands behind the scenes. The leadership and geniune desire to help others make me want to work harder and mostly everyone that is part of the NROTC program has the same passion to help others (plus it is a love for our country).
Though you can't make everyone happy 100% percent of the time, sometimes it just takes one to make your job satisfying. Though it can be stressful and sad at the same time.
