Today I was a denied a waiver for USNA because of my mild red green color blindness. I was wondering if this is waiverable for NROTC MO if I am fortunate enough to receive the scholarship from this most recent board. I am qualified for AROTC, and was just wondering if NROTC MO has different standards. Does anyone have experience with this? Thank yoh

I did not do an in depth search, but referencing a few ROTC sites for MO it appears that NROTC MO has no color vision requirement. I didn't find the pub that referenced it though. It could limit some MOS things... Aviation would be out. Also comms is usually out as seeing the color of wires is pretty important. Also a few things such at ATC and some others similiar to that tend to use lots of green and red displays, so probably limited from those too.

Thank you so much Navy, had a moment of panic and figured the forums would be the best place to turn.

Color blindness is not a disqualifier for a MO NROTC scholarship; it is for Navy option though. As NavyHoops said, certain occupational specialties would be restricted for you.
