Just out of curiosity if you received yay or nay what state are you from and what was the date you received the news? We are in SE Texas and have not heard anything.

Are you referring to NROTC or USNA? I believe that NROTC is a national competition and geography does not play a role (unlike USNA).

Referring to NROTC. No one in our area has heard anything. Previous years we have heard some sort of news by late February. Classmates have heard back for AFROTC and ROTC but nothing for NROTC. Everyone has been boarded...for awhile now. With USNA nothing back yet for the ones who applied.

My DS did not get a negative reply until mid-April. Sort of by definition some people were awarded scholarships about that same time.

Yes Kinnem, looking at years past it worked out about the same way in our area. There were one or 2 late awards.

Just so you are aware - the status updated in the portal stating that "you will be sent a letter with information regarding your options." It arrived today (2 weeks later) He won't be home until much later this afternoon but if it says anything important or interesting I will post it here. I am doubtful that it does. No, I will not open mail not addressed to me. :)

I do not know if when you submitted your application has anything to do with it, but my DD submitted all of her NROTC paperwork before the first board in October and found out the first week of November. Good luck to you all. I know the wait is excruciating.

hi gokings,

i received an army ROTC offer, but I got the no offer from Navy just an hour ago when i checked the mail.

Finally the boy is home from crew practice! C'mon Spring! The letter doesn't tell you anything more than you can probably learn trolling these threads about becoming a walk on at an NROTC and reapplying i.e. reapply for the scholarship/"advanced standing"/contact the unit command at desired colleges now. While he was initially disappointed to be a non-select the sting has already worn off as the prospect of reapplication looms. He also has another letter from THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY to add to his collection, which he thinks is very cool. GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY
