Awesome, nothing like reading the words "offer extended" . Very cool, I'm sure NROTC site will be updated soon.

Does anyone know if they wait until the end to give out tier III scholarships? I've had my application in for a few months but still haven't heard anything.

Yes NROTC status did change before official documentation received.

Earlier post may have been misleading. I apologize. Son notified of NROTC Scholarship before holiday. Scholarship assigned to first choice school, however son not accepted to first choice. Contacted NROTC late December to change school and process was completed within 2 weeks. NROTC web site includes school change.

Ok! Thanks.... I thought i read back aways that you had heard before this. It's good to know that they are able to change the schools fairly quickly.

Hi Singaporemom! First of all congratulations... and guess what? My son has the same thing on dodmerb. Just out of curiosity now I wonder if our status change a few days ago where the status went blank meant something? Hmm... there may be more to this process than any of us know. Now I am anxious to know to which school it is assigned. He is determined to go to Notre Dame, and the NROTC unit there said it would be no problem to transfer the scholarship there if it assigned elsewhere.

Congrats Lesrunmore! I hope tomorrow the site will let us know which school. Good to know that schools can be switched!! Off to Fedex to send DoDMERB remedial and paperwork. This is quite a process!

NROTC site updated

NROTC updated the website with college units selected for scholarships from last board.

Selection Status

Congratulations!
You have been selected for a 4-yr Navy Option scholarship.
You are assigned to the NROTC Unit at University of Notre Dame.

I sure wish this was tied to the Admissions status!

The waiting is killer! Does NROTC give a notification if you were deferred? My status has been that they had reviewed my application at the last board, so I was wondering if they updated sites individually only for those who received the scholarship.

Thanks & congratulations!

Wow! Singaporemom you are not going to believe this (or maybe you will), my son's reflected the following status:

Woo hoo! I think I am more excited than he is!!! He did early admission, got accepted, so he is going to ND! His sister is already there, not ROTC. Good luck to your son, surely this is a great omen for him! And again, congratulations!!

Go Irish!!!!

singaporemom

Thats great for your son! Now that he has 3 ROTC scholarship offers, is he still waiting for an Academy appoinment also? Must be nice to have so many choices and to know already. The waiting is awful. I am very discouraged.

Don't get discouraged bulldog. There are many more board reviews. My son still needs to get accepted to the schools so we have a lot of waiting and ups and downs to go. He was rejected by his ED choice, after being assured that he'd get in. The ROTC scholarships aren't very helpful if he doesn't have a school to go to!

Lesrunmore: unbelievable! Congrats! Maybe we will meet up in South Bend this fall?! That's great that your son has already been admitted. Keep your fingers crossed for my boy. I'm hoping he'll hear from the battallion soon and can get a read on admissions.

Singaporemom I do hope we get to meet up in South Bend in the fall!! Did you get a letter from the NROTC unit at ND today? They have no idea at this point who has been admitted and who is still waiting to hear, of their scholarship recipients. The good news I thought in the letter was that they send the scholarship information to the admissions office. I sincerely wish your son the best and hope he gets in, I wish anyone who wanted to go to Notre Dame would get in; it's a special place, with an amazing community of dedicated faculty, staff, priests, rectors and religious who make the experience awesome.
