NROTC Scholarships.....Board decisions made!!

just got back from mailbox...got the letter. And a brochure from ND for financial aid. At least I know they got his application. Son applied at the deadline.

Don't Understand

Per DoDMERB:

Agency: ' US Navy ROTC
Admission Status: Offer Extended
Admission Status Change Date: 12-JAN-2010

Nothing yet on the NROTC site.

If the DoDMERB website says offer extended that means they have been selected? My son's DoDMERB page has all the academies, but this had puzzled me since he had not completed the application for the MMA

Agency: ' US Merchant Marine Academy
Admission Status: Offer Extended
Admission Status Change Date: 23-DEC-2009
Current Medical Status: Qualified (as of 30-DEC-09 )

Cna some one explain?

February 9 board?

Just to get clarification, has anyone received notification of the 2/9/10 NROTC board? The board decision you are writing about was actually made earlier in the year. I haven't seen anything from the most recent board. Anyone?

Either that or very few scholarships were offered ! Hopefully someone will be hearing something soon cause this waiting is getting to be very discouraging, especially after reading of the results from the latest AFROTC board. I would imagine there are less scholarships to be had this year than in previous years because of the economy, but until we hear different we can all still hope for the best.

NROTC

We were told back in December that if my son were to consider changing from a Tier 3 major to a Tier 1 or Tier 2 major then they (Pensacola) would consider him for the NROTC scholarship. My son did change his major to a Tier 2 major but since then we have not heard anything from the Jan 12 or Jan 26 boards. We contacted the person we were working with in Pensacola and his response was to just wait. From what we have been reading in these forums, it seems that no one has heard from either of the January boards. Maybe they are still working on it? Anyone out there get any word from the January boards???

Yea, I think at least 2 of the moms/dads who post on this board had son's who were awarded scholarships from the 1st one in Jan, but i'm not positive.
