I just checked my status for the NROTC Scholarship application to find that I have been chosen to receive a 4 year NROTC Scholarship at Cornell University! I couldn't be happier! Cornell was my first choice school and I also got a Tier 3 major which are supposedly hard to come by. Now all I have left to do is get accepted to Cornell itself. Does anyone know if my scholarship will affect my chances of getting accepted to Cornell? Now that I have the scholarship, is there anything I need to do or anyone I need to contact at this point?

I apologize for spelling "scholarship" in the title wrong. I cannot edit it.

Just like AROTC and AFROTC, nobody here can or should give you an answer unless they are intimate with Cornell. What we all can say is talk to your liaison at Cornell, because only they know if Cornell admissions talk to NROTC when it comes to admittance.

The fact is scholarship awards for ROTC varies school to school for admittance, and only the school can give true insight.

You may want to check out collegeconfidential.com under Cornell to see if it plays a factor.

I wish you the best and hope every dream comes true.

I got NROTC to Cornell as well with a major in Government. They will send you an email, so just keep your eyes open for that.

Call the NROTC Unit at Cornell. They sent us a breakdown of admission statistics at each college at Cornell with SAT scores of all the NROTC students there. We found it very helpful. Many majors overlap at the different schools. You'll have wide latitude with a Tier 3 and you're not locked into Arts & Sciences school with that Tier.

Pima, I will be sure to do that. Thank you for the advice.

awl13188, awesome! I will look for that!

basilrathbone, that is great news! Thanks for all the information.
