"Your application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination. Selection decisions will begin in late August and continue until the end of April. Once a selection decision has been made, your new status will be reflected."

^ Does this mean the board is making a decision on it?

I am not quite sure what is up with the NROTC site. My son has a scholarship and 2 days ago all kinds of information was up there. Now it is like he is applying all over and waiting. Good thing the acceptance letter is locked up at home.

My son's page changed last night and said the same, too, but today is back to the "no decision has been made" page. Oh well, hopeful for a moment anyway.

Many congrats to your son, though!! Great job!

Call them up. They are on central time so you have a couple hours before they close up for the weekend. They will be more then happy to tell you your status.

Four days ago, my son got an e-mail from the NROTC Programs Coordinator which said - "CONGRATULATIONS on your selection! Please check your status page." We have checked the status page every day but no updates. He applied and was accepted to several colleges. Assuming he has been awarded the scholarship, can he use it anywhere?

You need to find out where he got the scholarship for. The NROTC awards go per the ranking that was made at application time. The scholarship is transferable but not necessarily guaranteed to transfer. It will depend on whether the unit has openings. Recommend you call Florida tomorrow and find out where the scholarship was awarded to and make sure that your son is accepted there and then start filling out the acceptance forms. Congratulations to your son. What were his choices for units by the way?

His first and second choice were NCSU and Va Tech. He was accepted at both, but now VT is really his first choice. What/who is Florida??
