My NROTC status page says "Your application was not selected for a scholarship." But then it also says that it is at Marine Corps District for Board Selection. So does this mean it does not have a final decision yet or that it is a no? I'm thinking it's a no, but I'm not sure.

When my son went through it (twice), the systems were often out of synch. The ultimate status is on the Navy side of the portal.

Your app should show you 1. submitted 2. No scholarship 3. At the board waiting decision 4. Will be winner or no scholarship again. MO only has two boards. This is from my Capt.

My DS has the same above for 1 & 2. #3 says "items waiting to be processed" .

"Your application was not selected for a scholarship." takes precedence over "at Marine Corps District for Board Selection"

The Marine Corps has two boards -- early in the fall (November) and one in the spring (Feb - Mar timeframe). When my son went through his first time, the system didn't really ever update. He didn't get it on the first pass.

Well that seems odd since board #2 results are still outstanding according to NROTC staffers and board members. Mine has changed twice since December.

Understood.

When in doubt, the Marine Corps RS handling the Marine Option packet would know if the board for that particular district has met. In 2014, the 2nd board for the 8th district met in February. Recipients were notified within a week by phone or email. Those that didn't get it didn't see the portal update until much later in mid to late April.

When the early board for the next year met in November of 2014, recipients were notified in early December and the portal updated in January,.

Different MCDs may handle it differently as far as notifications go. I would, however, take it that the NSTC status of "not selected" is not a good sign.
