I think the results of the latest boards were just released! My status page said that I have been awarded a Navy Option Scholarship!
 
And the Xmas tree is lighting up! I always love these threads because of how fast it moves.

Congrats to you, now if you have yet to your DoDMERB get your medical paperwork in order.

And no silly tricks, such as thinking taking a running jump on to your tramp 10 feet a way is a smart idea! Or deciding this is the yr to take the black diamond trails on the slopes after only learning to ski last yr. :rolleyes:

DD was awarded Navy ROTC option scholarship to the University of Notre Dame!! A very happy day in our home. Now she just needs to get into the school!
 
Congrats all! Was Notre Dame the first choice for your DD?

Congratulations! If you received a scholarship at this board, can you tell us when your application was complete and submitted?
 
Congrats! So if our status on the portal hasn't changed does that mean we have been bumped to the next board or is it possible they could continue to update the portal in the days to come?
 
Congrats! My DS page still says no decision has been made...so we continue to wait.
 
ds's portal says he's been awarded NROTC to Auburn!!! his first choice and out of state!

(grandma says its Auburn's lucky year with regards to potentially getting her grandson and winning this weekend!)

only 29 on ACT and 28 on math ACT for those of you wondering and sweating :thumb:

Congratulations! That's great news. Long drive for Mom and Dad to tailgate at the games though! However, I have a hunch Grandma will be there!
 
a little confused NROTC scholarship

we are just a little confused at our house tonight. DS received an email today giving him acceptance instructions for the scholarship, etc. But when he checked his portal for NROTC it says there has not been an update.

Are we understanding the email and attachments correctly, that he has been awarded something? Or could there be a system glitch with the site?

Not having the letter to hand it's impossible to tell if you're misreading it. As some scholarship notifications went out to others today I imagine you are reading it correctly. It's quite possible (in my mind) that the portal updates, which typically take a few days, might be running behind the email. If it's not cleared up by the end of the week I would start making phone calls.

gmemgoch: looks like several people learned the news via the Portal today. You got an email.

Who was the email from?

Seems the only emails I can remember hearing about are when a local recruiting office intercedes to let their candidates know the good news.

I also seem to remember the portal being updated in "batches" rather than real time so its possible that the news got to you ahead of the portal update.

But it would seem the news is good!
 
I got the acceptance email for the scholarship a few hours ago, and I had pretty much everything in and submitted by early to mid August.
 
it was sent from someone out of Pensacola FL, the subject line of the email reads: "NROTC Scholarship Acceptance Booklet". It is quite lengthy and has a couple of attachments to it. I need to take a moment to read it more thoroughly, was just concerned that the status of his portal did not seem to be in sync.

He will keep checking it over the next few days to see if it changes.
