I have tried to contact my liason officer for a long time now. They once sent me an email asking for a little paragraph about myself. I responded right after and then they emailed me back saying they appreciated the quick response. This was during winter break and I have been trying to get in contact with him for a while now. No answer, even their cell phone number is discontinued. I contacted my regional admissions counselor and they said that they would contact someone but no one has said anything to me. What should I do? Will this make my application inapplicable?

I have received an appointment for USMA last week and currently waiting to hear from USNA. The reason I am still trying to get into USAFA is because my MOC gave me a nomination for USAFA so I figured I should continue to try. I finished my application a long time ago and literally only needed the officer interview to do for the longest time.

ALOs are very busy people, regional directors even more so. So it's possible they just haven't gotten around to you yet. But if you don't hear anything soon I'd suggest maybe voicing these concerns with the regional admissions counselor.

On a side note, if you are only continuing to try to get into USAFA because you were offered a nom here, you will not be happy here and you most likely will not succeed.

I'm aware that they are busy. It was just that I feel like my ALO literally just disappeared or something. No emails, phone isn't working, nothing.
I also do want to go to USAFA. Not just because I got a nomination, I went to summer seminar and I had a great time. But I kind of just gave up when I didn't hear anything back from the ALO at all. But it's whatever, guess whatever happens happens!

I wouldn't read too much into not hearing from the ALO. Once my DD's had her app done, she didn't hear from her AOC until she was appointed. It could be that you haven't heard back because he has nothing new to tell you. At this point, it's all in admissions' hands.

Edit: I just noticed you're from HI. My DD's sponsor is Hawaiian as are her fellow cadet sponsor brothers (all 4) and sponsor sister (1). I'll bet I know who your sponsor will be should you get an appt. to USAFA. :)

HI? Wow, those are going to be some looooong expensive flights back and forth to home and back. Congrats, and if you need someone to house sit let me know ;-)
