I was contacted by my BGO a few weeks ago congratulating me on becoming an official candidate but have not yet received anything from the Academy. Should I contact admissions to make sure there was no mistake?

Yah, I have a similar situation, apparently I have a portal and everything but I have yet to receive news from the academy itself though

Packets and information from the academy should be sent out in the next week once the NASS programs gets up and running. Thing is with technology, word gets passed along through email, BGOs, etc. a lot faster than the packets in the mail. So give it another week or two. If you get nothing still, then I would call admissions.

NavyPro is correct; the paperwork temporarily is lagging the electronic "word". How and why? You would be surprised by how small the Admissions/Candidate Guidance staff really is. Also, this is an extremely busy period in that shop: wrapping up 2018, NASS selection and ramping up this year's program in a few days, STEM also has gone through selection and will start shortly, several staff officers either are on cruises with current mids or are in the field helping inform prospects about the opportunities available to young men and women via USNA. I understand you are anxious to get your candidacy underway, and commend you for your enthusiasm - keep it up during the next several months, and best wishes in attaining your goal.
