Official candidate letter

I still haven't got mine, but a few applicants in my district have already.. does this mean I'm not considered a candidate?? Or should I just keep waiting?

If It Helps

DS said that he got his new candidate number and password via email today. Round two well underway, he completed his MOC applications last week. Other than the MOC interview's he is hoping to have everything complete before leaving for college.

I got my candiate info in the mail today. Quick question on the personal statement. Is it two separate essays or one 300-500 word essay?

Ditto...

This is the sprint... No power 10's, just the sprint!

Cheers!!!

For those reapplying, one suggestion . . . hold off on writing your essay until later in the year.

USNA will NOT look at college applicants (or reapplicants) until after first semester grades are in, which for almost everyone is January. Between now and then, a reapplicant will have experienced a lot -- going off to college, living on one's own, having roommates, managing finances, etc. That new maturity will naturally come out in one's essays. Once at college, you may have new/different insight into why you (still) want to attend USNA.

The essay need not be an epistle, but give yourself the time to show that you are a more mature and confident version of your "former" self.

One essay...tying together the two prompts (interest in service academy and experience about integrity).
