Official EA Mail Stalkers Unite Thread!

Not sure if it will make you all feel better or worse, but we did actually begin mailing EA letters last week on Thursday, December 3rd. We're getting them out as quickly as we can, but the majority will still probably be mailed on December 15th.

I didn't think it was possible to become more anxious, but I now realize that there are degrees of anxiety!!!:yikes:

Hopefully the next few days will bring great news for everyone!

Believe it or not, Objee, it does help, because now we have new information to analyze fifty different ways!!!

So I guess if they are sent out 2nd Day Air, it's possible that some got their's on Saturday.

We send everything standard (First Class) mail until December 15th and then we'll start sending "good news" via Priority (2-3 days) mail to ensure delivery by December 24th.

OK. So, if I got this straight, the letters coming out now, are they letters we DON'T want! Bad news goes out first? Need to run outside to hang garlic all around the mailbox! Thanks, Objee for keeping us in the loop!

Not necessarily.

No...we just send everything (appointments and deferral letters) via First Class mail until December 15th. We start sending appointment letters via Priority mail after that date, but will continue sending deferral letters via First Class.

It came today!!!! Orlando

Fairwinds,

I 've also heard of another option that I couldn't bear to do myself. Sneek the letter out of the mailbox and put under the Christmas tree! Yikes

We like this idea. Daughter is too busy with exams, sports and boyfriend to worry about the mail, so we are going to slide it under the tree. After all, it's just eighteen days! Oh, we removed all links to this site from all of our computers, except mine.

See you all June 28th as we drop her off...

CONGRATS!! Enjoy every minute between now and then! I was aware, but still very unprepared for the reality of our son being "up and out". Weird, but amazingly satisfying. And a bit sad too...where did the time go?

Plan on coming up for Sunday the 27th, as there are many festivities for the incoming swabs and families. Chase Hall is open, dinner in the wardroom, meet and greet with the coaches, etc.

Congratulations to you and your daughter, the roller coaster ride begins in 202 days.

I my mom would never have that sort of patience. And she knows that I would be furious (while being happy about it lol) at her for doing this. You are deff going to have a great Christmas morning!! Congrats!:thumb:

Thin white envelope

My d receive a thin white envelope today. Needless to say she was disappointed. A few questions about the deferment letter.
Letter reads
Your record will be reconsidered if you provide any of the following items by 2/10.
;fall grades
;New SAT/or ACT scores
;Additional letters of recommendation,awards, ect.

I don't know if her Oct 24th ACT scores were in time for EA review. How can she find out if they were? I don't think she can do much better with the time left and with all honesty I don't think she want to take them again. (7 or 8 times already between ACT & SAT). Does CGA look at the composite score or Just math and English scores.
She also had a interview last week that will be added into her file. She said the interview went very good. Even though the TWE didn't mention anything about an interview.
So she'll send in her once again great fall grades, two more letters of recommendations, Volleyball and I sure swimming letter/awards. Hopefully the ACT scores didn't make the first round in time 30E/27M cause I think thats that on them.
Also it didn't mention anything in the TWE about resubmitting PFE which she took at AIM. Should she send a new set anyway. The only thing she has improved on is the push ups but I think that will put her from a C grade to a B grade.

Congratulations to the first round EA appointees and for the rest of you that have been deferred mail watch starts when?

Hang in there...many folks will get the dreaded TWE...AND still get Appointments. If this is really what your daughter wants, she can still have it. It may come in an appt. later this spring, OR she can reapply next year. That's what my son did, and honestly the extra year served him well.

Don't give up...hang tough and know that we are waiting with you.

Conditional Appointment!!!!

Today I got a call from my step mom during school and found out that I have received a conditional appointment!!! Hopefully I get a waiver or a remedial! Good Luck to everybody, and I hope to see ALL of you on R-day!!!:thumb:

Congrats to those of you who received appointments! That is a really great accomplishment! I can still remember the feeling of holding the "big package" in my hands on December 22 last year...what a feeling. LadderdaddyO, do not let your daughter become discouraged. I know many people in the c/o 2013 who received the "thin envelope" during EA but was then accepted during Regular Admission. I even have a friend who was given an appointment a week before R-Day. If your daughter wants this bad enough, she can make it, even if it takes a year like shellz's son or my case. I can't wait to see you all on R-Day...trust me, it's an amazing experience.

Hi Guys! Fellow postal stalker here.... Just so I'm clear - Fat Envelope=Good, Regulare Envelope=Bad?

My neighbors think I'm crazy, going to the mailbox 5x a day. I'm thinking of starting a landscape project around my mailbox, just so I'm there when the mail comes!

Have her call her admissions officer and ask.

RA appointments will start to show up around early-mid March 2010.

Absolutely true.

Not necessarily "bad" just delayed. But yes, the appointments come in large 8.5 x 13 thick envelopes, deferrals come in a standard No. 10 letter envelope.

Thank you for replying! One other question - how much weight does a coach's recommendation count for? I know there's different levels, let's say a coach gave your son a "blue" code.

The longer it takes to get the letter, the more I over thunk everything!

The USCGA fields 23 intercollegiate sports teams from less then 1,000 cadets.

A recommendation from a USCGA coach can help, absolutely.
