It is true that the school usually only sends the OFFICIAL transcript (It has an embossed raised seal) to the school and not to you personally. Have them do that. However, the school will usually give the students a "COPY" of the transcript (Without a raised seal). There is NOTHING against doing that. If the school questions that, simply ask to speak with the principle. Then, if they give it to you, bring a copy of that copy with you when you attend BCT. They'll get the OFFICIAL version eventually, but in case, they'll have your copy to work with. That is how our school did it. Don't argue with the counselor. SMOOZE (Spelling) them if you have to. If they are being dildos, then speak with the principle. Explain that this is the MILITARY you're dealing with and a) Things are crazy there. b) If they can trust you to train to protect your country, the school should be able to trust you. c) You're only asking for a COPY, and NOT the official transcript. Good luck. mike......
P.S. ANYTHING that you had to fill out, mail in, get signed, etc... in the appointee's packet; to include immunization records, security forms, medical records, eye prescription, etc.... WHEN I SAY ANYTHING, I MEAN ANYTHING!!!! Make sure you make a copy of EVERYTHING and leave a copy at home and bring a copy with you. If it was one of those "I mailed it to them"; I hope you made a copy BEFORE you mailed it. If you did, make a COPY of the COPY and bring one with you. I know first hand of basic cadets who have had to get ADDITIONAL immunizations, medical exams, numerous paperwork, etc... all because the academy didn't get, or couldn't find, the paper work that they supposedly had. It happened to my son in BCT. As they said they couldn't find things like immunizations, some basics were rolling up their sleeves. He simply started pulling paperwork out. He was covered for everything. I also suggest this for your ENTIRE MILITARY CAREER. if you have to SIGN IT; KEEP A COPY. Best of luck.... Mike.....
