Official USAFA Class of 2017 Appointment thread

Soccer guy, you never know. It seems they are a little earlier this year than last but my DS was very highly rated and didn't find out until April 1st! The next few months will be very difficult waiting, try to relax and enjoy your senior year. Make sure you have plan B, C, and D in place, work out regularly, especially running. Enjoy checking the portal multiple times a day, I still remember DS's SSN!! good luck

I agree, my DS was also a very highly rated candidate, I can’t forget the day when he received a TWE (around mid-Apr.) shock on his face….

I'm still checking my portal multiple times a day even though I know that I won't hear anything until May, which is when the Falcons have always traditionally heard of their appointments haha
Agreed on the suspense Just trying to focus on working out and studying for now

You all do realize that they don't update the portals daily. If you look at the apptmt list they typically find out out on the exact same date +/- a day or two. I would guess this weeks appointments came out on Wed. Board meets Mon., collate the list Tuesday, type up apptmts Wed. I seem to recall when our DS was going through this his ALO told him to check Wed-Fri..

1. The "boards" are NOT meeting this year like they have in the past. I can't go into more detail but it's not like the past.

2. USAFA is "hoping" to see the VAST MAJORITY of notifications go out after March 15th...not on the 15th but "sometime after" if memory serves. Again, I can't go into a lot of detail. (USAFA tells ALO's some things and says NOT FOR PUBLIC DISSEMINATION...and other things..."You can hint but be vague...") Don't ask why; it's just the way it is.

3. You can't do a thing about this; other than sit back and enjoy the final months of high school or the post-high school wait...

Trust me, as one who has gone through this process as a candidate twice...I know what you're feeling!!!
(I'm feeling it too with my candidates!)
