I had a great party for my daughter. Made a bunch of notecards with address labels for her friends to write her......more labels for her thank-you cards. Unfortunately, I made an error on all those labels...the last 4 digits of the zip-code are incorrect. Will she still get them? I feel awful! Cant believe it! :frown:

Ask a local post office and see how the last 4 digits impacts the delivery?

I believe the last 4 digits are the same as the P.O. Box number. The first 5 get the mail to the right local post office sorting location. The last 4 determine the route.

Most likely the person sorting the mail into the individual cadet mailboxes will be looking at the P.O. Box xxxx info, not the last 4 digits.

This is based on most of the Zip+4 numbers I have seen that are directed to P.O. boxes.

For USMA, the cadet 7-digit zip is different from the main West Point zip - 10997 vs 10996

Yes...the last 4 digits are supposed to be the same as her P.O. Box.......on my labels they were not.

You can call the WP post office to confirm, but once it's in their hands they place them in the boxes based on name & address (your cadet's name is affixed to the back of the box).

Thanks I feel better. Was scared it was an automated system that didnt look at names, etc. Of course, she is handling my mistake much better than I. "No worries, Mom".......guess it is trivial to everything else on her mind.

In fact, even if the sender only put your name and USMA on without an address or a zip at all, you will still receive it. Don't worry.
